DENVER, CO, UNITED STATES, August 25, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado (BBBSC) opens public bidding on its annual auction Aug. 22 at https://bolder.bid/app/public/bidapp/bbbsco26/auction. Registration requires an email address or phone number, bidding can be done from any device, and no Big Little Gala ticket is required to participate. Bidding closes at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27.— Elycia Cook
The 2025 auction carried more than 90 packages across categories including Colorado getaways, sports and outdoors, photography, neighborhood baskets and event tickets.

Somebody else bids on it. A month later, a case manager is sitting down with a family in Colorado Springs because of it. The line between those things is shorter than people assume."
What Is on the Block

Colorado businesses, hotels, restaurants, and individual supporters donate packages outright, so proceeds carry almost no cost of goods.
Who the Bidding Reaches
The young people served by BBBSC's youth mentoring programs in Colorado are not a general population. Of the Littles served in 2025, 70 percent came from single-parent households, 41 percent belonged to families receiving income assistance, and 15 percent had a parent who had been incarcerated.
Matches last an average of 3.6 years, and that duration is the point. Mentoring research consistently finds that short matches produce little and can do harm, while long ones move outcomes. Auction proceeds pay for the professional case management that keeps a match going past the first hard year.
A Sold-Out Room, an Open Auction
The Big Little Gala on Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Denver Art Museum is BBBSC's largest fundraiser of the year, and its seats are spoken for. The auction is the part of the evening with no capacity limit. Bidders in Pueblo, Durango, or out of state compete for the same packages as guests standing in the museum.
